It is located on the Leh-Kargil-Baltik national highway, at a height of 14,000 feet above sea level.

The hill is alleged to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull cars uphill and force passing aircraft to increase their altitude in order to escape magnetic interference. In reality, the effect is an optical illusion and there is no magnetic disturbance in the area at all.

The magnetic power here can be experienced by switching off the vehicle at a certain spot here. People notice the vehicle moving up the hill in no time at a speed of about 20 km/hr.
