India is a country which has been blessed with the natural beauty as well as the cultural heritage. All parts of this country have its own heritage, customs and traditions. UNESCO, being an international agency of United Nations, strives to preserve and conserve the heritage and natural beauty of any country so as to promote Education, Science and culture.
From the year 1983, India has got 30 properties which have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Out of these, 24 have been characterised as Cultural Heritage sites and 6 are characterised as Natural Heritage sites. These all properties are marvels of this great land and India has submitted 33 more properties to be included in this esteem list.
You have Caves to Mountains, Sanctuaries to Buddhist Monuments in this list. Two sites out of these 30 have been earlier added into World Heritage in Danger List – Manas Wildlife Sanctuary and Hampi. However, with the great conservation efforts; both the sites have been removed from danger list and now, No World Heritage site from India is in this list.
TriporTrap.com would like to express its gratitude towards Archaeological Survey of India, the premier Government agency; for protecting, conserving, maintenance and doing archaeological research for protection of our national treasures.
